Salt Way Silver and The old Salt Way
Droitwich has a long and fascinating history based on the extraction of salt from the local brine springs. Several of the town centre buildings lean at precarious angles due to subsidence caused by the process.
“The Salt Way may have formed part of a major trade route network from Droitwich to the south east”, it’s very distinctive straight Roman road leading from the town, it goes past the canal where The Silver Jewellery Boat was moored and is now the current B4090.
Hi, my name is Jonathan Kettle
I love teaching Silver Jewellery making in my new “home studio” specialising in helping complete beginners to make their own silver jewellery.
I haven’t always been a jeweller and you can find out more about how I got here on my about page.
What could I make on a one day course at Saltway Silver?
You’ll be surprised by how much you can get done. Below are some examples of things you could make during the day.
